Apple’s App Store Making More Revenue Than Google Play Store

In the first quarter of 2016 the App Store made more revenue compared to the Google Play Store even though downloading apps on Android devices had been more than on iOS phones and tablets.

App Annie analytics company revealed in its report the Apple store made about double the revenue of Google store over the period January to March this year.

Last year the scenario was different as Google had taken a significant lead in terms of downloads.

The report adds the iOS users in Japan, China and the US contributed the increased revenue of the Apple’s App Store that was close to 90 percent.

The most lucrative iOS download market was China and the revenue increase was due to games that included Westward Journey Online, Hero Moba, Fantasy Westward Journey and The Legend of Mir 2.

Currently Apple is the most popular brand in China in terms of smartphone followed by Huawei and Xiaomi. The iOS devices has more than 30 percent market share where as the native vendor has in grip 24 percent of Chinese market. The Xiaomi is in third place with 17 percent share.
