BJP asks Murli Manohar Joshi not to field

Former Bharatiya Janata Party president Murli Manohar Joshi too has been denied ticket to content in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections after Lal Krishna Advani and couple of more senior leaders.

The Lok Sabha member of parliament is learned have been asked by BJP not to field in this general elections.

Joshi’s office confirmed the same through a statement for voters in Kanpur adding the message was conveyed by BJP general secretary (organization) Ram Lal.

The 85-year-old vacated Varanasi seat in 2014 for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He won the seat in 2009.

For more than two decades the former Union minister has been face for BJP and it is yet to be seen whether he would reconcile to the decision.

Currently he heads Parliament’s Estimates Committee and some of its observations like GDP, non-performing assets and jobs. Joshi embarrassed the government.

However, he said the party has taken a principled decision that younger ones should be given opportunities.

The other veterans who have failed to get tickets include B C Khanduri, Kalraj Mishra, Kariya Munda and Bijiya Chakravarty as they all are over 80 years of age even though they were many term MPs.

LK Advani is 91 years old.
