It was a highly impressive Portugal vs Spain match at the Fisht Stadium in Sochi on the second day of FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. Portuguese captain Cristiano Ronaldo made a hat-trick with a late free kick and rescued the team with a 3-3 draw on Friday in an enthralling Group B match.

Only three players until today have scored in four World Cups – Uwe Seeler, Pele and Miroslav Klose. Ronaldo is now the fourth one. Similarly, he has also scored in last four European Championship tournaments.

Further, it was Ronaldo’s sixth hat-trick for Portuguese and 51st in his career. It seems age has not withered him.

On the Spaid side the forward Diego Costa notched two goals and another from Nacho placed the team 3-2 ahead.

In a preceeding match between Morocco and Iran no team could score a single goal in 90 minutes. However, it was a good first match for Iran after registering a 1-0 win in extra time. It was also the first World Cup match victory for the country since 1998.

Another Friday’s sizzling match witnessed victory of Uruguay over Egypt after 80 minutes when Jose Maria Gimenez made a powerful header meeting a right-wing corner. The team won their opening game at a World Cup for the first time since 1970.
