Monday was a brilliant and spectacular day for the Indian Commonwealth 2018 squad at Gold Coast and medal tally doubled compared to that of Sunday’s.

Shooter Jitu Rai bagged gold medal defeating Australia’s Kerry Bell. Weightlifter Pardeep Singh grabbed silver medal in the men’s 105kg category while in men’s 10m air pistol event Om Mitharwal won bronze.

The silver and bronze medals in the wommen’s 10m air pistol event were grabbed by Mehuli Ghosh and Apurvi Chandela.

A day before 16-year-old Manu Bhaker grasped a record-shattering shooting gold.

Meanwhile, Manish Kaushik and Gaurav Solanki have reached quarter-finals in their respective weight categories in men’s boxing.

In the lawn bowls women’s Pairs Sectional Play Lovely Choube and Rupa Rani Tirkey defeated Wales duo of Laura Daniels and Jessic Sims in the first round.


In the Men’s High Jump Qualifying Round (Group A) Tejaswin Shankar cleared his second attempt.
