ICSE, ISC, compartmental exams

According to the Council CEO and secretary Gerry Arathoon the Class-X examinees who will pass in English and three other subjects can appear for the compartmental exam if failed in the fifth subject.

Similarly, the Class-XII examinees who will pass in English and two other subjects can appear for the same if failed in the fourth subject.

Arathoon said, “This is the first time we are introducing compartmental exams as we want to give unsuccessful students one more shot at passing the board exams without waiting for a year.”

Moreover, the examinees will also be able to know their score in every subject from next year.

Addressing to principals and teachers at the annual Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate conference on Friday the CEO added further that separate syllabi for history, civics and geography will be decided for the ICSE students coming from abroad and also for the students of schools located in other countries which are affiliated to the council.

From 2021 exams the students of both will choose from only three texts in English instead of plethora of currently available options.

Arathoon said a customized time-table will be published on the website for principals on December 3.
