Institute of Apparel Management, Gurgaon Hosts an Interactive Session on Luxury and Branding

Gurgaon’s premier fashion institute, Institute of Apparel Management (IAM) and The Luxury League jointly organized an interactive session on ‘Luxury and branding’ for two hours at IAM’s premises, with an aim to promote the concept of Luxury and to initiate an environment conducive to creative thinking amongst like-minded people. It was a platform to exchange ideas that will lead to better brand establishment & luxury business ideas. The key speakers for the session were Ms. Ritu Beri, International Fashion Designer and President, The Luxury League, Ms. Sylvie Polette – French Luxury Consultant, Heart of Luxury and Dr. Darlie Koshy – DG & CEO, IAM & ATDC. Prof. Raj S. Dhankar, Vice Chancellor, Ansal University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The session was attended by more than 100 corporates and students.

Ms. Ritu Beri, International Fashion Designer and President, The Luxury League said at the occasion, “Our aim is to be a rallying point for those who believe, that strengthening commercial ties among nations is not only good for business but good for global living -standards and good for peace.”

The session offered an ideal chance for students and corporate to learn more about Luxury & Branding. They met with industry partners and exchanged ideas and information with session experts from the core areas.

In his introductory speech Dr Darlie Koshy, DG & CEO, IAM & ATDC said “this session will give you an introduction about the importance of Luxury and how Indian market is getting ripe for it. Ancient India was hub of all Luxuries like Palaces, fine fabrics, luscious carpets, footwears, heritage, fine clothing etc. and now is the time to revive Luxury in India”

The Luxury League is focusing on reviving Luxury from India to the World and they want to join it with Prime Minister’s “Make in India” campaign and encourage the manufacturing of Indian Luxury Products. The luxury branding is about the importance of being unique and making a statement that stands out.

At the concluding session Ritu Beri motivated the students and highlighted that India’s luxury industry is worth 500 billion dollar which has a huge potential and Indian youth should aspire to do better than others.

Speaking on the occasion Ms. Sylvie Polette – French Luxury Consultant, Heart of Luxury said “India could be the next luxury hub. The country possesses most of the fundamentals but is probably lacking expertise in the field of branding. Branding Indian Luxury, together with the Luxury League, is a fabulous project.”

The luxury patterns of a country make a direct impact on how the image of a country is perceived world over. Strengthening luxury pattern ties amongst nations is not only important for business but also good for ensuring global living standards.
