Modi tweets respect to Advani, Joshi after massive victory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah paid respect to party veterans LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi following a landslide win in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Modi tweeted, “Called on respected Advani Ji. The BJP’s successes today are possible because greats like him spent decades building the party and providing a fresh ideological narrative to the people.”

Calling Joshi a scholar and intellectual par excellence Modi tweeted that his contribution towards improving educations in the country is remarkable and he always has worked to strengthen the party.

Joshi congratulated both the senior leaders for the unprecedented victory in the elections. Addressing to the press he said, “Heartiest congratulations to PM Modi and Shah for steering BJP towards this unprecedented victory in the elections.”

LK Advani and Manohar Joshi was sidelined in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Earlier this year Joshi said was asked by party not to contest the elections.

In the 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections he was a member of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur constituency. He was also an MP from Varanasi constituency, which was the incumbent constituency of Modi.

Advani too was barred from contesting from Gandhinagar seat from where he had won six times. Amit Shah fielded from it and won by a margin of more than four lakh votes.
