Indian official said the country has never nodded no to a dialogue with Pakistan, but it was also added that talks should be about stopping cross-border terrorism and not only limited to Jammu and Kashmir.

It is reported India’s NSA Ajit Doval and Pakistani counterpart Nasir Janjua have discussed about ways to reduce tension in the region after latest so-called surgical strikes by India.

India said the political and security establishment in the country are waiting to see how the rival neighbor responds to the surgical strikes.

On Sunday National Security Advisors of both the countries met for a discussion and agreed to try defusing tension in the region.

Advisor of foreign affairs to Pakistan Prime Minister, Sartaj Aziz, confirmed it saying they have talked about the fraught state of India-Pakistan relations.

He added, “Both officials stressed on the need to establish contact to reduce tensions along the Line of Control.”

Last week Pakistan cinemas banned Indian movies calling an act of solidarity with the armed forces. It was announced in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore, and was a follow-up of the decision of Indian Motion Picture Producers Association to ban actors from rival Pakistan who come to work in Bollywood.

Earlier last week Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj said at the United Nations General Assembly Pakistan believe in terrorist attacks to obtain territory in Jammu and Kashmir.
