Bharatiya Janata Party alleged Tuesday that party workers of Trinamool Congress removed posters and flexes of BJP from Kolkata streets ahead of mega roadshow of Amit Shah.

The BJP chief was scheduled to hold the roadshow Tuesday afternoon from Shahid Minar to Swami Vivekananda’s residence in the city.

The saffron alleged few hours before the roadshow TMC workers and Kolkata police removed large number of cutouts and flexes of Amit Shah, Narendra Modi and Rahul Sinha.

BJP national secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya alleged the goons of chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Kolkata police removed all the flags and posters.

He claimed the state is currently under a rule of anarchy and said, “The Election Commission has given us permission to hold the roadshow. How is it possible that party banners and flags are not allowed on the road? Bengal government’s hooliganism is going on here. We will talk to the EC about this.”

Kolkata police meanwhile claimed the flexes and posters were removed under the instruction of Election Commission as those were placed without prior permission on state government properties.

BJP leader added if EC has given permission to remove the posters and flags, the electoral body should have been present, but all the people acting such were Trinamool activities.

BJP said, “They are deliberately damaging the cutouts and flexes and throwing them on the roadshow to damage them.”
