Hegde said, “We have come here according to the order of the Supreme Court. We hope to speak to everyone. We hope to resolve the matter with everybody’s co-operation.”

Addressing to the protesters Ramachandran said the apex court has upheld their right to protest, but besides this other citizens in the city has their rights too and that should be maintained.

The former bureaucrat said he will be meeting the other interlocutors to persuade them to hold protest at an alternative site.
